Hot Springs, AR  2007-  The board of directors of Hot
Springs/Garland County Beautification Commission, an
affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. (KAB) and Keep
Arkansas Beautiful, is proud to announce this year's Cigarette
Litter Prevention project with a brand new slogan, free
stickers, bumper stickers, and the popular pocket ashtrays.

John Nuernberger, Chairman of the Commission, is also the
chair of the Chair Cigarette Litter Team enthusiastically
exclaimed, "We are thrilled to have a unique program that
focuses on the positive ways smokers can change their
behavior to help the environment. Our new Slogan
Environmentally Responsible Smoker sums up what we feel
most people who smoke want to be, and are giving them the
tools to do that and let folks know they are doing it. Our last
program had extraordinary results, reducing litter downtown
by a staggering 83%. We are focusing on three new diverse
areas this year including Hot Springs Municipal Airport ,
Family Park , and one of our Marina areas."

Adam Roberts, Executive Director continued, "this year we
will not only be giving away tools and recognition to the
smokers, but we are purchasing ash receptacles for the City
Airport and Family Park in areas our first audit found specific
needs."

John Nuernberger explained further, "We are pleased and
honored to announce that Keep America Beautiful has
awarded the Hot Springs/Garland County Beautification
Commission another grant to help with this expanded
cigarette litter program."
