"Never doubt that a small group of
    thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world.  Indeed, it's the only thing that
    ever has."

The Hot Springs/Garland County Beautification Commission is a grassroots organization which
relies on volunteers from Hot Springs and Garland County to accomplish its mission in protecting
and maintaining the beauty of this area through education and mobilization of volunteers.  If you
wish to volunteer your services, please call 501-623-7871, or you can send an email to
contact@hsgcbc.com.

Aside from the physical presence of volunteers from the surrounding community, the Commission
also has financial needs which are only partially met by funding from the City and County. Despite
the Commission's record of service (winner of the 2008 Chamber of Commerce Organization of
the Year and bringing in almost $750,000 in funds and services directly to the community in
2008), Garland County has severely trimmed its funding to the Commission.  The Commission will
continue to supply services and education, but loss of funding from the County has created a
vacuum which needs to be filled.  If you can help, donations of money or supplies are greatly
appreciated, and every item will go towards continuing the mission of education and improvement
within the community.  Donations which are needed are:

Cash (can be made via check, money order, or
electronically)
paper, letter and legal
card stock
HP Q 6000 series laser toner
Walmart gift cards
Office Depot gift cards

Due to staff shortage, please call 501-623-7871 to check office hours before dropping your
donation off at 500 Mid-America Blvd (inside the Mid-America Science Museum), or you can send
it to HSGCBC, PO Box 20735, Hot Springs, AR  71903.

If you live outside of Hot Springs but reside in Garland County, you can also help by contacting
the JP of your district to voice your concerns that the County has withdrawn the majority of its
support to the Commission.  You can locate your local politician
here.

The HSGCBC cannot survive without the support of the community which it serves.  The
Commission thanks YOU for making 2008 a most successful year in education and support of our
environment!
